Stoke City grants Osaze one-year extension

Nigeria’s Stoke City striker Peter Osaze Odemwingie can heave a sigh of relief , following the Club’s reward with a new one- year contract extension.
With this extension the Nigeria international will remain at the Britannia Stadium until the end of the 2015-16 campaign but happily there is the option of a further 12 months.
Odemwingie, who joined the Potters in January 2014, recovered from a serious knee injury which sidelined him for eight months to return to action in April.
“We’re delighted to that Peter has extended his stay with us at the club until the summer of 2016,’’ said chief execu- tive Tony Scholes.
“He suffered an unfortunate injury last season after making a big impression immediately after joining the club.
“Peter has worked incredibly hard to battle back from this to regain full fitness.
“He’s a popular figure not just in the dressing room but with club staff and supporters so we are thrilled to keep him on board this season.’’
Stoke have also ap- pointed John Coates, son of chairman Peter, as vice-chairman because Keith Humphreys is step- ping down from his role on the board of directors.
“John and I have run the club together since bet365 purchased the club in 2006 and his ap- pointment as vice-chair- man serves to formalise his involvement,’’ said Peter Coates.
