LIVERPOOL are considering a swap deal for Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez, according to reports in Italy.
The 24-year-old's days at Anfield appear to be numbered after manager Brendan Rodgers left him out of the squad for their upcoming pre-season tour.
The Germany international moved to Italy from Bayern Munich in 2013.
After a prolific four years at the Bundesliga giants he has struggled to settle in Italy.
Mario Gomez has struggled in Italy but could still be a target for Liverpool
Injuries and poor form have hindered his time at La Viola, where he has scored 14 times in 47 appearances.
But Reds boss Rodgers might feel he can get the best out of the 30-year-old and remains in the market for a new striker.
It is reported that both clubs are keen on the deal and the only thing standing in the way is an agreement from both players.
